Obamaland....Same Old, "Tax & Spend" Politics

Like the archetypal figure in English folklore, Robin Hood, Barack Obama seeks to rob the rich to give to the poor, taking from one group of Americans, who earned it, and giving it to another, who didn't.

According to the IRS, the rich already pay more than what anyone, who was objectively looking at the numbers, would think was their "fair share." The Top 1% already pay 40% of all income taxes (see graphic), even though they only pull in 22% of all income. Just how is that fair?

If Barack Obama really wanted a fair tax code, wanting everyone to have, as he said he did, "skin in the game," he'd raise taxes (I'm not promoting this either) on the 40% of eligible taxpayers who currently pay zero income taxes. They are currently getting a free lunch. (I'm not promoting this either.)

Obama is clearly, as exemplified by his recent tax and spending policies, the same old "tax-and-spend," liberal we've came to despise. Granted, he's wrapped in a pretty package with a bow on top, but the ingredients are the same, tax and spend. He's no different from Jimmy Carter, except better looking, more articulate, no southern accent, and culturally more politically correct. He's pretty much promoting the same types of policies, however.

Punish the achievers of society, the successful, the small business owners that employ over 90% of Americans (how's that going to help unemployment?), by raising their tax rates, eliminating mortgage interest deduction, and eliminating charitable contributions deductions.

I guess if you're a married couple making $125,000 each, you'd better get rid of that "mansion," you're living in. Sell that dog, driving housing prices down even further, before the President gets his way. And, don't turn around and build another expensive home, either. You won't get a tax deduction and you certainly wouldn't want to use your "riches" by spreading your wealth amongst a bunch of currently unemployed, middle-income construction workers. That might actually help the economy, something this President has zero interest in.

Logically, the President's tax proposal is communicating this message:

Don't spend or invest your money. And, don't give it to charity either. Send your wealth to Uncle Barack and let him and the rest of his pals decide who to spread your wealth around to.
