This was back during the "Hope and Change" cult-like phenomenon when people weren't (still aren't in my opinion, but I digress) listening to his words, but how he said them:
Barack Obama: "Under my plan of a cap and trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket." (January 2008)
Is that what you want, folks, your electricity bill to "skyrocket?" Bend over, because the bill he's referring to, Cap and Trade, aka: "National Energy Tax," just passed the House 219-212, and now moves onto the Senate.
Not only is this ill-conceived legislation ridiculous, but the timing couldn't be worse. At a time when people are attempting to tighten their belt and unemployment is at a 25-year high at 9.4%, Obama is slapping on this unnecessary, unworkable, and unproven cost to every American.
When Obama said your taxes weren't going up unless you made over $250,000, he was lying to you. You have been deceived and believe me, America, if you don't wake up, it won't be the first time.
He made it very clear what his plans were for higher energy costs for all Americans. You just chose not to listen.
