ANOTHER STIMULUS PACKAGE?

Another stimulus package? Are you kidding me? What the government should be doing is killing the current stimulus (porkulus) bill. A knife should be plunged deep into the heart of the $787 billion spending bill that's so big the website they designed to display the expenditures (another $84 million down the toilet) won't even work (recovery.gov).

Only 10% of the behemoth bill has been deployed so far and yet, both the Vice President and President have indicated that they're open to a second stimulus package. The President, in order to get the socialist spending spree passed, flew around the country preaching doom and gloom consequences if the gargantuan bill wasn't passed, "without delay."

Let me ask you a question. If the bill is going to be that effective in "stimulating" the economy, then why have they only spent 10% of the money? The president's fear mongering warned all of us that unemployment would soar to over 8% WITHOUT the passage of his mammoth spending bill. Well, unemployment just hit 9.5%, a 25 year high, WITH the porkulus bill. So, what now Mr. President?

What will it take for this President and his administration to learn that you can't borrow and spend your way out of a problem that was caused by too much spending and borrowing. The government should be setting the example and doing what the rest of us have had to do, tighten our belts to get through these difficult times. So much for stimulus!
