President Obama said on Wednesday that his healthcare monstrosity must be passed without delay, (like every other big spending bill he wants passed) saying that rising costs were the main driver behind his federal deficits. However, he failed to articulate how he would pay for the expansion, in the very same government programs of concern, and failed to make clear how his reform would save money. It won't. The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) says so, and Mr. Obama knows this.
He spoke in vague generalities, yet repeated the same mantra that "If we do not control these costs, we will not be able to control the deficit." However, even fellow Democrats, at least the few fiscally conscious "Blue Dog" Democrats, have expressed doubts about the cost of his new attempt to snag over one-sixth of the domestic economy.
Bill O'Reilly of Fox News, said that even with his Harvard MBA, he didn't understand the President's plan, even after his speech and press conference
The bottom line is that the President doesn't care about costs. This is a total red herring. If he did, he'd reign in the porkulus bill that hasn't been spent yet, the portion of the $787 billion stimulus package that isn't going to stimulate anything accept democrat voters and more dependence on the federal government.
President Obama, having never held a real job, lives in the world where the almighty government has the answers to all of life's challenges. This is the complete opposite viewpoint of the founding fathers who, across the board, promulgated small, limited government, not the Godzilla we have today.
Meanwhile, while the President's negatives are skyrocketing in the polls faster than healthcare costs, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi is saying that she has enough votes to pass the ill-conceived big government power-grab. The Democrat controlled congress can pass the bills without any Republican support
You can be sure of one thing. Neither the President, Ms. Pelosi, nor anyone in congress has actually read the entire bill.
