Only a dummy would believe some of the preposterous promises and claims, made by President Obama, during his hazy healthcare speech to Congress and the nation on Wednesday evening.
With con artist like confidence and arrogance, he makes the "something for nothing" promise that he can insure 46 million new people (correction: now he's mysteriously lowered it to 30 million) and pay for it by cutting "waste, fraud, and abuse"? What kind of gullible suckers does he take us for? I wonder if he'll keep this "waste, fraud, and abuse in the system if he doesn't get his bill passed (which, by the way, doesn't really exist, does it? Where is it? Can you send me the link? What happened to "transparency"?).
Has the president actually identified specific cases of "waste, fraud, and abuse" that he's going to cut out of the current government-run (Medicare and Medicaid) programs? Why wait for a law to pass? Cut it now! Don't wait, Mr. President. Do it "without delay". Don't you know that we have a budget "crisis," and that the "status quo isn't an option"? This, brought to you by the same government clowns that can't even control fraud and abuse in Obama's Stimulus Plan. And aren't the same bureaucrats who run those programs that are full of "waste, fraud, and abuse," the same ones that will be running this new free lunch? Since when has not "government efficiency" been truly one of the biggest oxymorons of all-time?
Doesn't this sound great, fellow Americans? It's FREE! We can give free health coverage to 46 (or, is it now 30?), million people for nothing! Everyone will have better insurance policy, free from Barack Obama. Not to mention that we can force on private insurance companies the equivalent of burning down our house, collecting our benefit or claim money, THEN buying homeowner's insurance policy, without seeing an increase in premiums. How wonderful and supernatural!
Political hucksters have used their best friends of "waste, fraud and abuse" to bamboozle voters into accepting government vote buying programs for an eternity. The bill gets passed, but the "cost savings" never seem to transpire. What makes you think it will be different this time? Can future cost estimates have any credibility when the Obama administration announced that they'd low balled their own budget deficits by only $2 trillion?
In 1966, Medicare cost $3 billion. The House Ways and Means Committee, along with Lyndon Johnson's administration, projected that Medicare would cost $12 billion, adjusted for inflation, by 1990. In 1990, Medicare costs were over $107 billion. That's nine times Congress' projections. That's only 900% off! Close enough for government work. Medicare now costs over $400 billion and is heading towards bankruptcy. Do you really believe that Obama's numbers will be any less counterfeit?
Obama calls his political dissenters, half the country, liars, then accuses them of making bogus claims. At the same time, is order to create a "crisis," he says that if his reforms aren't passed then more people are going to die. Hey Mr. President, if people are really dying because of the current system, then why are you waiting to implement the actual reforms until 2013?
“Reducing the waste and inefficiency in Medicare and Medicaid will pay for most of this plan,” he boldly promises. If that is true, then why does a $900 billion plan include over $800 billion in tax hikes?
With eloquence, he claims that, "our health care problem is our deficit problem." If that were true, then why does the plan he supports add $239 billion to our annual budget deficit over the next ten years, according to the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office?
Congressman Joe Wilson may have inappropriately spoken out of turn when he blurted out, "You lie," but can you not understand his inability to control himself considering the rapidity of the whoppers being spewed by the President? When will we get tired of being deceived, manipulated and lied to by slithery politicians?
