President Obama's health care speech in September was the announcement, explanation, and promotion of his health care bill, his health care plan, his proposal. There's only one problem. President Obama lied. He has no plan.
We hear about the House bill, the Senate bill, Pelosi's bill, the Baucus bill, the Democrat bill, the Republican bill, Harry Reid's bill, this bill, that bill... Everybody has a bill except for you-know-who, President Obama, who read so eloquently, confidently, and convincingly from his teleprompter about his health care reform bill:
"The plan I’m announcing tonight would meet three basic goals." --President Barack Obama, Health Care Speech, Joint Session of Congress, September 9, 2009
Oh, the anticipation! It was him announcing his brand spankin' new, previously undisclosed plan. No mention of Pelosi's, Baucus's, Reid's or anyone elses. He announced his plan. How exciting!
"That’s why under my plan, individuals will be required to carry basic health insurance" -- President Barack Obama, Health Care Speech, Joint Session of Congress, September 9, 2009
"My plan" this, "My plan" that. Where is this plan?
"My health care proposal has also been attacked by some who oppose reform as a “government takeover” of the entire health care system." --President Barack Obama, Health Care Speech, Joint Session of Congress, September 9, 2009
Above the president even refers to his nonexistent plan being attacked by those who have other ideas. What does he do? He attacks them back! Tit for tat. How dare anyone disagree with his plan. Although, since he has no plan, can it really be called an attack? How could they attack something that doesn't exist? In fact, how could there be opponents to his plan if there isn't one?
"What this plan will do is to make the insurance you have work better for you. Under this plan, it will be against the law for insurance companies to deny you coverage because of a pre-existing condition. As soon as I sign this bill..." -- President Barack Obama, Health Care Speech, Joint Session of Congress, September 9, 2009
"This plan," "this bill," a specific bill that he announced and proposed during his speech, actual legislation that he will sign, indicating that it must be on paper somewhere, right? How will he sign it if it doesn't exist?
"It is only one part of my plan, and should not be used as a handy excuse for the usual Washington ideological battles." -- President Barack Obama, Health Care Speech, Joint Session of Congress, September 9, 2009
His invisible plan even has parts (makes it sound like it's tangible, actually exists. Slick, huh?)!
"This is the plan I’m proposing." -- President Barack Obama, Health Care Speech, Joint Session of Congress, September 9, 2009
There you have it, the summary, the plan the president proposed. He's done announcing, explaining, and promoting the great Obama Health Care Plan, Obama's health care reform, Obama's health care proposal. It sounds so great! Free health care for all and it won't cost one red cent! I'd love to actually see it. Have you seen the President Obama's health care bill?
The president has no health care plan.
But, just because Obama doesn't have his own health care plan.... Even though the president is lying about having a health care reform bill.... Even though his plan doesn't exist, that doesn't keep him from talking about it. It also doesn't keep him from taking credit for it, touting it's advantages, and demonizing those who disagree with it.
I guess it shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone that virtually no one (actually, definitely no one), including the "Obama-approved" mainstream media and the Democrat Party, are insisting on seeing the president's health care proposal. After all, they fell for, and are still falling for, the empty, obscure, undefinable, and duplicitous "hope and change" hooey. Not only is the president not being held accountable for his promised plan, but his "no plan, plan" is not even being noticed!
But he spoke with such conviction and confidence. He identified the nation's health care wounds and proudly provided the remedy. It's modern-day snake oil.
This president is nothing more than a fraudulent huckster whose intangible "hope and change," doesn't exist. President Obama's health care reform bill doesn't exist. The jobs he "saved or created," don't exist. His trainwreck "stimulus" bill isn't stimulating anything but the out-of-control national debt. His tax cuts aren't really tax cuts. The president said that his "first job is to put people back to work and get our economy working again." Neither has happened and the number of unemployed has increased by 41% under his "hope and change" economy.
President Obama lied about having his own health care bill. It doesn't exist and it won't exist. His health care speech was delivered for the sole purpose of announcing and describing his plan. This lie is added to a fast growing list, including the following:
- He promised he wouldn't appoint lobbyists to his cabinet. Obama lied.
- He promised he wouldn't sign a bill, before it was posted for five days on the Internet for public view. Obama lied.
- He promised he would take a scalpel to the budget and not allow pork projects to see the light of day, then signed the largest larded-up spending bill in human history. Obama lied.
- He promised us that his would be the most transparent administration in history. Then we get a stimulus bill released in the middle of the night with pressure to pass it before anybody really knows what's in it. Obama lied.
- He promised the most ethical administration, but appoints tax cheats and continues to back them even after their tax avoidance is brought to light. He even appoints one, Timothy Geithner, as the nation's top tax collector! Obama lied.
- He promised to cut the national debt in half, by almost the exact amount of his wasteful porkulus plan. Obama lied.
- On Feb. 24, in his joint address to Congress he said, “Not because I believe in bigger government — I don’t.” Then, the President proposed a budget that is astonishing in scope, with around 9,000 earmarks, a scheme for the biggest permanent swelling of government in history right on the heels of a sweeping trillion dollar stimulus plan. Obama lied.
