SEN. JIM DEMINT ON OBAMA: "WE CAN'T TRUST WHAT HE SAYS ANYMORE"

Unfortunately, we can’t trust what he says anymore, and I don’t think that the American people are going to begin to trust him more and more as we get towards the elections, even if the economy improves,” says the usually very gentlemanly South Carolina Senator Jim DeMint, in an interview with Newsmax.com (see above video).

Senator DeMint doesn't just stop with his harsh criticism of President Obama, who earned more distrust recently with his unsubstantiated accusation against the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, but expresses frustration with his own party who, when in power during the Bush years, governed more like Democrat-lites, Liberal-lites, and and Republicans-in-name-only (RINO's).

About the Republicans in power during the Bush years, Senator DeMint contends:
“I was a team player, and I listened to my leadership, and I saw that they run this party (Republican) into the ground. I mean after a disastrous 2006 election, where we lost the majority in both Houses, there weren’t any changes. I couldn’t believe it...you got a lot of people here in the House and in the Senate who just don’t get it, and so even some of my Republican colleagues have resisted any change."
During the Reagan administration, which accomplished a great deal, yet would have accomplished much more if the liberal, establishment (or, as they refer to themselves, "moderate" or "centrist") Republicans hadn't fought him along the way, seeing him as an outsider and a threat to their power.

It's these kind of Republicans that must change, be removed actually, from their elitist perches. We will not recognize our nation after another round of big government party #1 and big government party #2.

DeMint's Senate Conservatives Fund has been a major factor in funding true conservative senatorial candidates, a role largely abandoned by the Republican Party establishment, who've endorsed liberal Republicans (a term that should be an oxymoron) repeatedly.

OBAMA ADMITS: “THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS A SHOVEL-READY PROJECT"

"Mr. Obama reflects on his presidency, admitting that he let himself look too much like “the same old tax-anCheck Spellingd-spend Democrat,” realized too late that “there’s no such thing as shovel-ready projects” and perhaps should have “let the Republicans insist on the tax cuts” in the stimulus."
So says The New York Times in today's weekend magazine. The title of the lengthy interview is, "The Education of a President". How appropriate! I think the title alone speaks volumes.

A few thoughts: The president isn't just an "old tax-and spend Democrat" (as he mentions in the above article). No prior president comes remotely close to him in the tax-and-spend department. He's also not a traditional Democrat. His unwarranted and counter-productive attacks on the private sector, both in words and in actions, are unparalleled.

Other than empty claims using obscure, newly created and non-verifiable phrases such as, "jobs saved or created", not obtained by real world numbers, but "estimated" using ridiculous Keynesian mathematical formulas, virtually everyone knows that the stimulus plan has been an extremely costly ($862 billion) and wasteful joke. So are the president's economic lessons that any third grader with common sense has already learned.

As the video below documents in Obama's own words, ad nauseum, "shovel-ready jobs" were his only reason for passing the stimulus, an imbecilic scheme that, with interest on the borrowed money it took to fund it, will cost trillions of dollars over time:

Other deleterious schemes on the president's wishlist: Cap-and-trade, tax hikes, and of course, more "stimulus" to provide "shovel-ready" jobs.

SOAKING THE RICH SOAKS EVERYONE

As the video below illustrates, class hatred, class warfare, and "soaking the rich", may sound good to those who benefit from promoting it (politicians and bureaucrats), but it's insane from an economic standpoint. When you punish productivity, Punishing the producers in society, the entrepreneurs, the business owners of society is like, as Winston Churchill said:
"...for a nation to try to tax itself into prosperity is like a man standing in a bucket and trying to lift himself up by the handle."
The American public was duped into accepting the federal income tax in 1913, with the top rate on the "evil" rich of only 7%, with only 1/2 of 1% being subject to it. Except for the 47% of the public who pay no income tax, the rest of us, not just the rich, pay multiples of 7%!

As the video correctly points out, when top tax rates were cut during the Reagan administration, the richest of taxpayers paid much more in taxes than they did at much higher tax rates. Hiking the rates on the rich has the opposite result than what was intended, never bringing in the money that the politicians project. You know what happens then, right?

ONE NATION RALLY - DEMOCRATS, SOCIALISTS, AND COMMUNISTS

Washington rallies, conservative vs. liberal
Glenn Beck's, 8/28/10, "Restoring Honor" rally vs.
the 10/2/10 "One Nation" Democrat Marxist Rally

It wasn't very long ago that associating with Communists was seen as shameful, despicable, unacceptable, dangerous, anti-American, and even treasonous. Those days are unfortunately gone with regard to the modern Democrat Party, as evidenced by the "One Nation" rally on October 2nd, in our nation's capital.

The event was sponsored, (or as they're described on the One Nation website, "Endorsing Organizations") by numerous organizations. Some were expected, typical wings of the Democrat Party, such as the UAW, SEIU, NAACP, and Jesse Jackson's radical Rainbow PUSH Coalition. But some are shocking, even to us who knew that today's Democrat Party has been taken over by radical far-left extremists:
  • International Socialist Organization
  • Democratic Socialists of America, and, last but not least:
  • Communist Party USA (CPUSA)
That's right, the Communist Party USA. Communists and socialists (there are many other like organizations on the list of supporters as well). No shame or embarrassment, no attempt to distance or disassociate with the plethora of Socialist and Communist "partners" (as the URL reveals) of the event, and no caveats. This is appalling and nauseating. These are not your father's Democrats! Speaking of my Dad (God rest his soul), he used to say, "Birds of a feather, flock together!".

The folks at Americans for Prosperity put together this video which highlights the many groups of self-identified communists and socialists that were in attendance. What do they have in common? All Democrats and all Obama supporters:

Less Government = More Freedom
